Small Skipper (2026)
Haze of high-summer light, hazing thick on high grass.
Heat sinking, honey-glazing into a slower pace of life. Breeze long passed. In between, meadow-hush of birdsong and grasses,
a cloud shimmering. Burnt-coral, Small skipper spark of community and curiosity, sweat sliding our hearts. Play, in flight. Meadow-hive, spiralling tiny pirouettes between stalks. Dancing, a love-dart. Hearts, alive and alight.
Good to be here, in high-summer light, good to be here. Hearts, alight.
A guardian strong, in a world of wonder. Trunk wide, safe – where we belong.
Ruthie Collins, Norwich, Norfolk.
